A Mentoring Resource for the college Application Process

Prolmpact first created college admission resources to help 1st generation college students who may have little or no support system at home. We also want to provide service to families that want to move up the college admissions and budgeting learning curves. Prolmpact appreciates that college admissions is complicated and competitive and that paying for college is a daunting task

Founderā€™s Bio

Christopher E. Meyer

I was an admissions tour guide for four years at George Washington University, and upon graduating with a BA in East Asian Studies, I joined the international division of Fortune 500 consumer products company, and later worked in the US diplomatic corps. I enrolled in the University of Southern Californiaā€™s MBA program and worked as assistant to the admissions director as part of a scholarship arrangement.

My more recent work has been entrepreneurial, I founded a company that designed patented products to reduce the schoolā€™s cost of ownership for edtech equipment; a second company helped generate US and East Asian private sector investment and trade to spur economic development in Micronesia. My experience in business and government informs my interest in public/private partnerships.

Iā€™ve been on a journey to learn how the US education phenomenon can help more people, particularly in disadvantaged segments of society. Along this journey Iā€™ve headed vocational training at the Mary-Lind Foundation in Los Angeles, CA; served on alumni and development boards at GWU and USC; organized mentoring teams at juvenile detention centers; & served as a business partner to CTE programs. This journey has taught me that students need to see the abundance of opportunity waiting for them on the other side of education & training (and from time-to-time they need a guide to find the best path). This demonstration of the opportunity, along with authentic encouragement & guidance, is the formula I use when working with young people
